These things affect peoples day to day lives. Smart phones, go back to the late 1990s, but the increase in technology available in the past 5 years, have made them hand-held computers available for web browsing, email, picture taking, and mobile calling anywhere. The evolution of 3G and now 4G technology has increased the speed and abilities the phone has.

Apple and iPod have had quite the evolution since the first iPod in 2001. IPods went from being a large object with a small black and white screen, to a smart phone with a touchscreen, phone calling, mobile internet, video chatting, mobile music store, built in speaker, and a collection of apps. There is a whole collection of iPods including an iPod shuffle, iPod nano, iPod video, iPod Classic, and iPod touch. All except the shuffle have a full color screen, and have video capability.




Facebook has gone from a small idea from a college kid at Harvard, and spread like wildfire to have over 13 million users. It is a global social network that brings people from all around the world together. You can chat privatly with friends, send private messages, write on their public wall, become a fan of people or things, join groups that deal with your personal intrests, and meat new people. Facebook is a global hit, but is banned in Pakistan, Syria, The Peoples Republic of China, Vietnam, Iran, and North Korea. Facebook is a showing of how internet technology is growing.

Google has recently come out with Android technology for smart phones. It competes with palm, blackberry, and iPhone technology.
